Rare Footage 1969 Joni, CSN and more

March 7, 2011

More tributes to Women in Music in honor of tomorrow’s International Women’s Day. Woodstock August 15 to August 18, 1969; there was something not only in the air, but in our hearts and it shows in these rare films:

The first is from a TV show in 1969 with Joni Mitchell, Cass Elliot, and Mary Travers singing Bob Dylan’s, I Shall Be Released:

The second is even more rare from September 14, 1969; Joni with the newly formed, Crosby, Stills, and Nash who had just performed at Woodstock the previous month; with John Sebastian in the background singing the Youngbloods song, Get Together – an anthem for our generation; It’s rough but very soulful and captures the whole mindset of what the counter culture was about;

Get Together… You hold the key to love and fear all in your trembling hand
Just one key unlocks them both it’s there at your command ;
